Gita Wirjawan and Vikram Sinha are in conversation to discuss some of the lessons learned from the Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) successful merger. In the dialogue, Vikram also shares his notion of leadership towards oneself and others β which boils down to a continuous effort to find the sweet spot between empathy and hunger.
Described himself as a global citizen and an avid learner, Vikram Sinha is the President Director & CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH). Prior to this role, he was the Director & Chief Operating Officer, Indosat Ooredoo (2019β2021); CEO, Ooredoo Myanmar (2017β2019); CEO, Ooredoo Maldives (2014β2017); Bharti Airtel Ltd, Congo (2014); Managing Director, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Seychelles (2012β2013); and other various leadership capacities, Bharti Airtel India (2005β2012). Vikram started his career at major companies such as Star TV India and Coca-Cola Ltd.
In early 2019 (during the COVID days), Vikram took on the challenge of revitalizing Indosat Ooredoo, which had faced a drastic drop in subscriber numbers. Under his leadership, the company gained revenue growth β by focusing on serving and connecting the community. Two years later in 2021, Vikram was appointed to his current position as the Director & CEO of the company. The following year, Indosat Ooredoo merged with Tri Indonesia into IOH. Vikram won βCEO of the Yearβ at the Selular Award 2023 for his outstanding achievement on the merger.
